On 3-5 September 2019, in the Katon - Karagai biosphere reserve for young specialists from the biosphere reserves of Central Asian countries and Russia was held a field school: "Biosphere reserves as an example of the harmonious development of society and the environment."
From 2 to6 September 2019, representatives of the CIS biosphere reserves took part in the event on the basis of the biosphere reserve: Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia and Kazakhstan, director of the UNESCO in Almaty K. Piccat, and a representative of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources.
Within the framework of the field school program there were: acquaintance with biosphere reserves, discussion, excursions and meetings with partners of the Katon-Karagay Biosphere Reserve, Interactive session, fulfillment by school participants of the assignment according to the Lim plan of action in their Biosphere reserves and presentation of their projects, and photo exhibition of the Transboundary Biosphere Reserve "Nature of Altai without Borders" and the exhibition-fair of products of the Biosphere Reserve "Katon-Karagay".
