In the State National Natural Park "Altyn-Emel" there are 260 species (this is more than half of the entire bird fauna of Kazakhstan - 49.4%), including 148 bird species that constantly nest.

18 species of birds of the National Park are rare, endangered and are listed in the Red Book of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) or the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
